The buzz around work-life balance probably dates back to the industrial revolution.
When did humans start separating work from life?
When did work start to have negative connotations?
Work is something you do to eat, sleep comfortably and feed your family.
As we have become more demanding from life, we developed “wants” on top of our “needs”.
In the process, we have compromised ever more of our lifetime to fulfill these wants.
That is what I think we call work; something we do in order to get something we want. But we do not enjoy the process. And we even get caught in a vicious circle we call rat-race.
This book is about getting out.
